Some parameters were exposed in Substance Designer as Graph Inputs so they could be adjusted later in Substance Painter. This allows quick control over the material without modifying the original graph.

For example, parameters such as Dirt Level, Dirt Contrast, Grunge Amount, and Edges Masking can be adjusted to change how strong the dirt and surface wear appear on the marble.

For this study, I created an aged marble material with stains and dirt buildup. Instead of a clean marble surface, I wanted something that feels more worn and imperfect.
This material was created as part of GAME 722: Materials at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD).
The base material was built procedurally in Substance Designer. After that, it was brought into Substance Painter for additional adjustments and testing. The final material was then rendered in Unreal Engine 5 to preview how the surface reacts in a real-time environment.
